1-65 exit 53, W. on KY 70 from Cave City, 1-65 exit 48, W. on S. Entrance Rd. from Park City. 52,830 surface land acres in Edmonson, Barren & Hart County's., S. of Nolin River Lake. Discovered about 1798, it was named a National Park in 1941. Mammoth Cave is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site and is the core area of an International Biosphere Reserve. Open year-round.

Park Features: Mammoth Cave, the longest cave system ever discovered on earth, with over 350 ml. charted on 5 levels. Mammoth Cave lies beneath 4 ridges, Flint Ridge, Joppa Ridge, Mammoth Cave Ridge and Toohey Ridge. 2 ferries cross the Green Riser, Houchins Ferry & Mammoth Cave Ferry, boat ramps. Fishing is permitted in the park without a license. Hunting is prohibited.

Surface activities, evening programs and guided walks, seasonal. Visitor Center open year-round, 7:30 am-7 pm in summer; 8 am -5 pm in winter, Central Time.

KY 728 to KY 1827, N. Of Mammoth Cave National Park. Nolin Lake, a popular boating and fishing lake, is the centerpiece of this new 333 acre park. Nolin Lake extends 30-39 miles into Edmonson, Grayson & Hardin Cos. Fishing, boating, camping. Nolin River Dam, N. Of Brownsville off KY 259. 166 ft. high, 980 ft. Long. U.S. Army Crops of Engineers.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park

12 mi. SW. of Glasgow off US 31E, S. of Cumberland Pkwy. 2,187 acres. Open year-round. 10,000 acre lake.
