OCCUPATIONAL TAX
All businesses are also required to register with the Occupational Tax Office. Hart County levies an occupational license tax of .8% of gross wages, salaries, commission, or other compensation of individuals and on net profits of businesses. For more information, contact:

The Cities of Horse Cave (.5%) and Munfordville (.75%) also levy an occupational license tax. Contact the City Hall in each of these communities for more information.
PROPERTY VALUATION AUTHORITY

BARREN RIVER HEALTH DEPARTMENT (Hart County Health Dept.)
Contact them for permits for restaurants, septic tanks, and retail markets involved in the sale of food or grocery items. Businesses are surveyed to insure that all necessary regulations set forth by the Health Department are being upheld.
